Due to being a solar battery, but also due to gravity/density, so that even if his solar energy temp depleted, would still be say at his bronze 1938 power levels until recharged?

I actually wish this were the case. Realistically, Superman should have some degree of enhanced strength and speed even when in a depowered state since Krypton has a higher gravity that Earth. But every single writer never takes this into consideration and Superman is as normal as any other human whenever he loses his powers.

It's interesting that a hero/villain performs one amazing feat, or use a power they haven't used for 20+ years, and that automatically propels them to a high status despite scans and evidence to the contrary. I don't know what is worse, selective feat picking that has only been done once or twice 20, or more, years ago or ignoring evidence from scans or the lack thereof. We need to stop putting our favorite heroes/villains on pedestals and start putting them where they really belong. But it's evident that people never will because they would rather accuse others of cherry picking feats, when they don't, and being 'morally superior' when they aren't. I guess being honest and as fair as possible only opens one up to being the target of childish accusations and fault finding by those who insist on acting petty and childish. What happened to a good debate between two civil, mature, adults?

If I had my way it'd be like this:

Basically, Kryptonians are much stronger and tougher than human (like Luke Cage).

Having developed/lived under a yellow sun like Kal-El, that means he is charged up permanently because his biochemistry has been altered.

I never liked the insta power loss of pre-crisis. Nor do I care for the post-crisis slow drain to merely human.

I could live with a slow battery de-charge to Luke Cage IF under a very specific red solar radiation that is not synthesizable (ditto green K).

I would see it being bout the same way, as say under the Red Sun or exposed to a big charge of Greek K, would temp revert back to being like Cage for strenght/durability, rest be lkike Spiderman for speed/quickness, and keep his supersenses, but no HV...

He should always have a baseline that would still be somewhat powerful, and retain his supersenses...

Or Maybe keep much of his invulnerable, as His body is channeling his residualk energies towards that still?
