So what did everyone think of this episode? I liked it better than the other 3 episodes because it didn't focus on our main cast of bland characters. But I'm not sure I want to follow these Doom Patrol guys around either when they get their spinoff.

I did like the way Neils Caulder seemed half malevolent half benevolent. I'm hoping he's more morally grey than good or evil but that's probably a worry for another series.

As an old Doom Patrol fan, I have to say I liked it. It's the original three members of the Patrol, but firmly rooted in Grant Morrison's era of the comics. Neither of which is a bad thing.

I'm really looking forward to their own show.

Also looking forward to Timothy Dalton taking over as Caulder for the series. He'll bring a lot more gravitas to the part.

I didn't realize the most underrated 'Bond' was coming in as Caulder. I'm not familiar really with DP, is it normal for the Chief to change form? Or was it just a casting change after this was done?. I agree he seemed both malevolent and benevolent at the same time, and I LOVE Dalton as a bad(ish) guy. He's both charming and diobolical.

'Thunderstruck' has been one of the most overplayed songs around lately, I just never imagined it for this particular intro.

In epidose 5 Grayson calls Gar "Tiger Boy", an apt name if he doesn't get some new tricks.

No, no body swaps for the Chief in the comics. As far as I know, this was just recasting at work. Saying that, the Chief did take a bit of a pasting at the end of that Titans episode. Maybe they'll use that to explain his change of appearance.

But yes, I like Dalton's acting. And he's MUCH closer to the way I've always imagined Caulder to look and sound.

I know. It's really disappointing how they're handling the Titans' powers at the moment. Very one-dimensional.

Oh I didn't know that...but I can see it!!!

His character on Penny Dreadful is kind of exactly how I would want Caulder to be played. Not the white knight who saves everyone or the villain...someone who is compromised but is still trying to do what he can to make the world better.
