Subj: Dukat again-Trek's most developed villian

Sorry, I couldn't reply below, and I'm 25 years late to the DS9 party, so being a little late to the discussion is expected.

Great points in both the video and the posts. Because of the "Station"ary nature of the show, Dukat got more development than any Trek villain by the nature of returning constantly. Of the three areas the video talked about, I think Alaimo excelled the most at the second. Showing Dukat as the hero of his own story.

I know the writers felt viewers were too sympathetic to him and showed him more directly evil at the end, but I was disappointing that he ended up bot crazy and possessed. It took too many nuances and subtleties out of his character. He was fantastic when ambiguous.

He seemed to genuinely care for the Bajoran women he coerced and manipulated relationships with. Having him be egotistical and racist but his own set of morals made him a much more interesting foe than as a devil influenced nutcase.

Looking forward to the interviews with his actor, and the rest of the gang in the Adam Nimoy 25th anniversary documentary coming at the beginning of next year. Now I'm even sorrier I only started watching it last April as I missed all the cool crowdfunding prizes when they quadrupled their goal in a couple of days a month or two before.

PS- Full and far too long thoughts on the series as a whole here:
