Agreeable review - especially with the compliment that Diana is getting excellent characterization handling as said in this issue recap here:

Of split mind on the cover image's context/symbolism:

A nicely surreal opening sequence. With mostly dead Ares shows up with an an axe to grind with Diana in return for the stimulating axe wound to the head. And also readers get to be voyeur as an unabashed Diana in bed sans underoos:

It was nice to see Artemis return to the fold. Though disappointing there was no footnote to Secret Six and distracting that no explanation as to how she got beamed to the Island. But the pending arrival of a male child and the immaculate conception mystery of Alkistis will probably get the story priority. Oddly enough the Artemis plotline was the more compelling here. Especially after her questionable actions in SS14:

The sparring/plotting is when the ish took a turn for the more boring. B-slap and all. The art shift probably contributed to this. Differentiating supporting characters is always trying with this title when theyre basically all D-List, all wearing skirts, and all having names that are appropriate and at the same time Greek to me. Who is Thalarion to Achilles again?

The two pages of Diana suiting up felt unnecessarily indulgent as layed out. Remind me that she can just fly to an uncloaked Themyscara now?

Donna shows up unfortunately unfootnoted from who knows what issue \:\( for a fair 'knock down, drag out' with an enjoyable unique method of victory for the star of the book. Anyone want the Sea Devils to show up and help find Diana's prize possession?

Then the end has the one of the worst Miss America Beauty Pageant type moments you could hope for but it made for an intriguing/entertaining cliffhanger.
