Subject: What did you think of BN: WW #2?|

This is the first WW picked up after a near-month off all comic books. It was refreshing going into the tiring BN Event in some ways and this issue started out so good...
BLACKEST NIGHT: WONDER WOMAN #2 (OF 3)
That is until the big 'holodeck' reveal. Also, it would have been nice to get a simple footnote that this issue takes place inbetween BN #6 - but even nicer if it look closer to the new ring transformation panels because the 2 POVs seem to synch up very unevenly.
It started very cool to get Diana's dueling narration perspective. Why wouldnt she be able to fight off the 'possession' (if thats what it is, since the revelation might prove this not entirely accurate). Afterall didnt Tim's parents in the BN Batman crossover show a good side much more easily than our heroine (which is odd)?
The anticipated fight in itself was pretty cool and fairly graphic choreographed. (Talk about merchandising hype - even her axe has the BN logo ) Diana really let Mera have it; Mera's gonna remember that down the road. The Queen vs Princess angle is neat.
Kinda strange (before the reveal) spitting on Diana snapped her out of it somewhat. Thank Zeus, everyone doesn't spit on Wonder Woman as a solution.
Not really a fan of hers but 'Poor Cassie'. Couldnt help but compare to the equally shocking Black Adam punch thru Terra.
It was very disappointing to see that Donna fared worse from her neck bite. Hopefully this only-good-thing-about-this reveal will prove this disappointing impression (by Diana) of Donna's willpower wrong.
And then when Bruce (wait no, Dick is Batman now, wait no she wouldnt kiss HIM, wait no go back and reread that...) the story took a turn for the - average. Now, KISSING Wonder Woman IS a good solution.
Soooo, its like a 'holodeck' ep of STtNG. Fine. Well, Diana does look wonderfully drawn on the final splash. Guess the Greek Gods getting involved with Blackest Night AND Zamorans, eh? Well, that is... something; 3 pages to make up for the whole dream sequence or whatever this easy way out plot device was.
What did you think?
I miss you, Dan.

I liked it a looooooooooooottttttttttttt
great issue number #2... picked up all 3 issues after I heard a few good things about it. Was burnt when Rucka got booted off WW for some short lived camp vomit but happy that i've got Rucka back with something very connected to his run.
