Stan Lee knows how to crib from other stories. His Hulk is basically an Atomic Frankenstein. The FF is the Swiss Family Robinson.

And the X-Men are basically the Lost Boys, with Magneto as Captain Hook and Jean Grey as Wendy.

I just realized it reading the book to my kid and reading my copy of X-Men #1.

Hulk is better as a Jekyll/Hyde analog.

The whole point of the Swiss Family Robinson is that they're lost on an island. I don't see the similarity to Fantastic Four.

Don't see the X-Men as Lost Boys either.

Anyways, everythings been done already anyways. The last original idea was made in the 1890s.

1890? Wow that is a long time to go without any original ideas. I had no idea it had been that long!

True - although Kirby's original flat-headed design for the Hulk does evoke the classic Karloff-style Frankenstein's Monster, let's face it. All it's missing are the bolts in the neck.

They're a family, I guess?

Me neither. Scott Summers doesn't have Kiefer Sutherland's mullet ;\)

LOL

Though I will admit my interests are piqued about this X-Lost Boys especially the thought of Sage in a sexy Tiger Lily outfit.

The lost boys lived in the wild AWAY FROM ANY ADULT INFLUENCE, whereas the original X-Men's lives were dominated by Xavier. The Lost Boys always had fun and loved living like some band of outlaws. The original X-Men almost never had fun, and if they did it was always interrupted by the Vanisher or the Living Monolith or some mean passers-by. The lost boys were successfully never growing up. The OXM all had to grow up too fast.

The lost boys rallied around Peter Pan, an fun-loving, mercurial, untouchable personality, like Spiderman's persona once he put on the mask. The OXM had no such person to rally around, because while Hank could fit that bill, he never took command. Also, Captain Hook's drive was to destroy Peter Pan, and he schemed against him. Magneto's drive is to dominate humanity and his conflict with the OXM was a reaction to their interference.
