Subj: How Do You Prefer Magneto? As A Villain, An X-Man, An Anti-Villain, Anti-Hero, Etc? He Always Resorts Back

To villainy. From the sounds of this new Magneto mini (Or special, or ongoing.), it seems like Marvel is planning to push him more towards his villainous roots. Writers don't seem to agree when it comes to him. Some writers seem to want to make him a villain. I think that it's inevitable that he'll become a bad guy again, especially with the upcoming Days of Future Present movie (When is that coming out anyway? I hope soon!). He's had turns as a hero. He also has a habit of always dying and coming back. Seriously, how many times has he died? Something tells me that they're going to pull a retcon and explain away Magneto's time with the X-Men as being part of some villainous plan of his, or something of the like. They seem to want to move him back to his more militant stance as Mutant-kinds protector.

I wouldn't mind Magneto coming back as a villain, as long as they don't go with the Silver Age version. I like him as a villain during the Fatal Attractions storyline. He was villainous and brutal, but at the same time, he was written as a three-dimensional bad guy. Planet X was good at the beginning, but faltered towards the end. I can see why a lot of people had problems with Morrison's Magneto. But the Xorn thing was pretty clever. What's currently going on with him anyway?

I think that it would be cool to see the Acolytes back again as well. Some of the originals. The Fabian Cortez ones, maybe? Didn't he order them to kill a bunch of hospital workers? The last time that we saw the Acolytes, I believe, was during the Mike Carey run, where Xavier convinced Exodus to join the X-Men on Utopia. Have we seen them since? But yes, Magneto is going to become a villain again, that much is for sure.
