Since no one is commenting about this X-week, so far: to keep my streaks alive, to maintain self-delusion; and to minimize the negatives, as much as possible, here's a combo review: Blecch.
Wednesday, All-New X-Men 027: Bothersome.
Displeasing attempts to validate Raze, AND his Brotherhood of the Future, as significant X-Foes of the NOW. Full of his new convoluted origin and their trying smidgen of new backstory that only added to the already-list of danglers from BotA; plus, no reader-friendly connection to Raze and his concurrent published fate in X-men No More Humans. Okay, the fate of Triage is somewhat intriguing.
Thursday, Nightcrawler 002: Bland.
Uninspired introduction to Kurt's very own "Fantastic Four" as they rehash the premiere battle with Trimega for the whole ish. After their cliche battle of misunderstandings in-story and in Kurt's hometown, The Bamfs bring the pain...ful annoyance and Trimega shows up again in stale fashion for a rematch next ish that readers must look forward to. Okay, the return of Margali is somewhat intriguing.
Friday, X-Force 005: Baffling.
Disappointing after such fantastic turnaround with 4 from the babbling dialogue contest among the team in 1-3 they turnrightback. There seemed to be several cool new concepts making up this plotpitch but they unfortunately read kewl when so many came across as mere infodumped in the 20 pages. Okay, the Marrow focus/origin is somewhat intriguing(and befuddling) and most welcome. Also the art and last issue left such a high, that this book (X-FORCE??!!) gets the comparitive pass amongst these three books.
Hmmm, leary whether to read Adjectiveless "Creed-Hunter" Wolverine on Saturday or not.
What was your best book of the bunch, Bub?
