Generation X 002 (2017)
NOT great but SO MUCH BETTER than the premiere and it's good to have a place to showcase long unsung student mutants. Here's just some PageByPage reactions to compare IF you read it too...
Thought provoking POV for Quentin Quire(QQ) to share. Frustrating non-footnoted presence to his Jean Grey & Mighty Thor appearances is unfair. Incredible power showing with him repairing the school - but then why didn't he pick up on the crime/hysteria in progress? While the upside classroom is a hilarious prank if you think to hard about it, it makes no sense how he could keep it up. This also sparks to sidebar thoughts - when the school repaired before was it considered a slight by anyone that they called in Jean's school instead of Xavier. And here they are again dumping Jean's name and rechristening it Xavier's? Also, if NYC is smart for letting the X-men squat in Central Park, ifff they're smart for that, they better include the verbal agreement to not include the anti-gravity tech of the previous location that would freak out the citizens - or the giant Kid Krakoa being allowed to replace the ground underneath, right?
Fun QQ/Broo banter.
Neatly presented reaction protocols (with precidence).
It's Jubi in charge! Move over Charles (not Xavier but the lastnameless one played by Scott Baio )!
Fun QQ/Jonas banter
Good use of QQ.
Just when calmness returns a great tense moment.
Believable library scene. Some cast moments.
Just when calmness returns a great tense moment again.
WRONG. Jonas was wrong to slap QQ. And writer may've been "wrong" to have the Purifiers still an active threat after QQ dealt with them.
Good QQ/Jubi banter. Good that Jonas, Chamber, and Shark Girl got fight facetime.
Perfect splash page placement and danger moment.
The GenX team members get time to shine in a fight (albeit lopside against a lone clumsy gunman).
Engaging aftermath. Readers get reasons for this title being published. There's the School Mission Statement, Grouping Curriculums with chance for missions, and the reasons for the individual members enrolling is touched on.
Hmm, which mutant role should actress Nicole Eggert get?
