I was surprised to come across this character, as I was looking some stuff up about him (I was introduced to him after Decimation.), and it says that he was a rapist in his early appearances. I've never read the original Hellions storylines (I do have the issues where they get killed off by Fitzroy, though.) so I don't know much about how his character was, but I do remember Magma comforting him after he was blinded by Pixie. And upon researching the two of them, they were in a relationship. Um, if Empath was a sexual sadist, why did Amara gravitate towards him? I'm not sure if that makes sense for the character. Also, did he ever get his sight back? Has he been seen since Secret Wars? He sounds like such a strange character. Thanks.

One of the earliest things he did was mind control Sharon Friedlander and Tom Corsi into BDSM stuff. Not on panel. It was 1984. Rape is probably the most exact real world term for that.

Magma and Empath is one of the many things people disliked about Louise Simonson's New Mutants.

I don't think he's been seen since that X-Men Heroic Age one-shot, and that was sort of a cameo. He was attacked by a technozombie Harry Leland in "Necrosha." Also a sort of cameo in "Second Coming." His last major story was when he was part of Maddie Pryor's crew in early Uncanny X-Men #500s.

It was portrayed that Amara found Empath intriguing because they shared an entitled, patrician upbringing. And I could almost buy that if it weren't for his creepy power set. In his early appearances he told Emma Frost he could MAKE her love him, and proceeded to have her groveling at his feet (while dressed in her normal fetish-wear, if I recall). Although Emma was just toying with him and playing along for a gag - as a telepath she could resist his manipulations. But being a horse-killing psychopath, she encouraged his more vicious instincts. That was who she was before Morrison declared her heroic.

I never read the issue where Amara confronted Empath for manipulating her. Does Amara feel violated? I thought in the aftermath of the Decimation they were growing close again. Of course, Amara had just seen her current BF incinerated to death in front of her, so she was emotionally vulnerable then even without Empath using his powers on her.

And a lean, silent figure slowly fades into the gathering darkness, aware at last that in this world, with great power there must also come -- great responsibility!

But yeah. Besides being a deranged killer (child and baby killer),

Creed is also a self admitted rapist.

She hasn't been close with Empath since the whole Nova Roma thing in New Warriors.

The two crossed paths during X-Treme X-Men, and she immediately laid into him, probably because the Nova Roma thing. He did kind of rescue her after her boyfriend died in the volcano during the Decimation (she and Empath were by no means together), but this is when she laid into him again, thinking he was controlling her (it was that guy Johnny D).

After this, she was on her own, and then had a date with Mephisto. Huh?! Yeah. Maybe she's just a strange girl. She learned her lesson with that one. I hope.

She finally caved and sort of hooked up with Sunspot by the end of the last New Mutants series. But that seems to have gone nowhere.

Ugh. Rape in comics. Will it never end? Is there any comic that hasn't told a rape story?

I mean, sure, it's almost impossible to picture Sabertooth enjoying sex in any other form but rape. But why do I need to picture Sabretooth's love life in the first place? Who the heck cares? Too much information!

OK, yeah, I admit it, I wrote this post partly because I'm building a reputation as the anti-rape-story guy. I actually don't want to read about rape. Weird, right? I should probably go to a therapist.

Sometimes I think he legitimately loves Mystique since he's had plenty of times to kill her, but he doesn't. He has no problems killing anyone else around her though.

He gutted Forge, Polaris, Wildchild and destroyed Shard, but left Mystique unharmed in X-Factor.

He orchestrated all of his anti-X-Force allies deaths like Daken, AoA Blob, the new Omegas, Skinless Man. But he planned on getting away with Mystique. Which he did.

And he later works for her too.

I can't think of any story where he physically hurts her.

My point is. They've done the nasty together, but he never abused her to my knowledge, like he did Birdy and others.

Sheesh. I can't believe he hasn't killed his current X-Force buddies yet. But I think that's coming soon. The attempt, any way.

Why is this psychopath allowed to continue breathing? There has to be a way to kill him and keep him dead. I bet Doctor Strange could do it.

That's interesting. I wonder what her "mystique" for him is. Unless it's the obvious. (She can be anyone or anything he wants her to be.)

It depends entirely on how you define rape. IMO, "sex or starve" is rape. Thus he raped Mystique.

And if you watch/read Walking Dead: Negan's wives are just another example of rape.

Him and Mystique had a sexual (And possibly romantic.) relationship. I'm pretty sure that was completely consensual. It would make sense for Creed to be a baby killer, but I don't believe that it's ever been shown or confirmed in comics. The only villain FOR SURE that we've seen kill a child was Scalphunter (The original. Or was that a clone?).

Yeah she was probably the only one who ever consented.

There. Now that sounds like Sabertooth. I'm just surprised Mystique hasn't tried to exact vengeance. Unless she has. Where are the Dixie Chicks when we need them? Creed has to die.

Well she DIDN'T confront him in New Warriors #31. Firestar got outraged for her. Amara was more worried about what finding out what was going than worried about being violated by Empath. Not sure if they ever went back to that and had Amara address her feelings about the whole thing.

And we all know the many tales of rape and non-consent in those stories.

I think she was just processing the whole "my life is a lie" stuff.

That's a shame. Since the Claremont days I thought they would make a great couple. I always thought these two would someday inherit the Hellfire Club.

I don't think Jeanix was ever raped.
