Wrong way around. According to every official Marvel handbook, she's naturally auburn, but dyed it black in her early years, just like Black Widow used to.

She's never kicked the hair-dye habit, though, and has had brown, or full-on red hair on some occasions (in other words, different colorists are inconsistent), so there's no problem with her going back to the black dye.

I hereby propose that her eyes being green instead of their natural blue, in vol.3, be a sign that something was wrong with her, that none of the team noticed.
