What the heck, there's 10 but how 'bout...
The New Unbelievables
Unbelievable. It seemed like only yesterday that Django Gustov received the news of Sean Cassidy's death. They had teamed up to create a new international team of superheroes. And since then, there had been more death reports of others, that he previously had the honor of personally working with: Namorita, Human Torch, Arabian Knight, Deathcry, Moondragon, Blitzkrieger, and the Scarlet Scarab*.
Cassidy had set in motion transferring all the assets of the failing X-Corporation to support their new team. Django had agreed to work with his new found friend to establish a full-time task force to help save the planet on a daily basis.
After hearing of Banshee's death, he learned that a mysterious philanthropist had siezed control of what was X-Corp. Then came 'Decimation' and 'Civil War'. The U.N. was in disarray from debating priorities. Django had to leave his position at the United Nations to seek private funding for his dream team.
He imagined them to be the world equivalent to his idolized American Avengers. He had already contacted and confirmed an ecclectic core line-up:
Avro-X, from Canada
Vormund, from Germany
Le Vent, from France
Gentle, from Wakanda
Micromax, from England
Omerta, from Italy
Gravity, from USA
And the women,
Lynx, the mystery woman from the Savage Land Nation which was most recently recognized by the U.N.
Starlight, though her agreement has been thru Russian channels only
Scarlet Scarab, a new* heroine and successor from Egypt
Now, it was yesterday that he had been contacted by the mystery philanthropist to meet for unconditional financial support. He had arrived in Sydney, Australia that would serve as base to the group. Django immediately recognized the giant of man as he approached and offered a handshake.
"Hello Mr. Gustov, I'm Imus Champion."
This man - whose assistance would be graciously accepted - was ironically, reportedly, and undoubtedly a past arch rival of the Mighty Avengers! Unbelievable.
