> ???-Did you read Simonsons Gilgamesh? He was a crazy "kill the monster on sight" charater.Or am I mixing up Walts take on Gilgamesh with someone elses?

He did love talking about killing monsters, and keep asking the others "will there be monsters?" And then Byrne had him get almost killed by the Lava Men. Which is kind of like the idea of Thor being put in a coma by a bunch of AIM Guys, only funnier.

And let's all be honest, he was one of the most pointless short-lived additions to the team ever, yet in less than a year, managed TWO tragic costumes (a feat probably only Wonder Man and the 3rd Spider-Woman can top). Gilg's best Avengers appearance was the one where Neut killed him. Then the recent Eternals series brought him back just to kill him again. Buh.

Hey-dont add me to the G.N.A.S. list. \:\-\) I need to go back and read those issues to see if there was any explanation on Gilgamesh seemingly change of personality.Of course he didnt have that many appearances and I think I have read them all.Starting with Kirbys Eternals,Thor,Avengers, and the latest Eternal series.I think his Avengers personality was just another aspect of him we hadnt seen before and as such was fine by me.When youre hundreds of thousands years old a little m.p.d. is bound to occur.I dont think he was developed much in the avengers but come to think about it Gilgamesh has had a different role and personality each time he shows up.Maybe thats part of his over all story.I think he could be an interesting charater to develop but not just as another Hercules-even though that is someone he has been mistaken to be.If memory serves the Epic Of Gilgamesh is considered to be where the Greek myth of Hercs labors originated.
