I think the turning point will be when the Phoenix Five are asked, "Since you wanted to bring back the mutants who lost their powers, why haven't you?"

A disappointing aspect of this issue is that it didn't happen yet. The whole push of this main series has been focus on Hope and what will she become/decide when the PF got to Earth. That happened and all us readers were rewarded for following was the opening caption "10 Days Later". Poor telling of the story of Hope. Okay, maaaybe it can be argued that the crossover titles are covering how the PF arrival is affecting the sideline players but this main mini is to set the framework and for the 10 days all we saw here was that the X-men build was a floating Utopia Central.

On the other side of it: the Avengers plan, so far, seems thrown out the window too. They claim they had Hope's best interest and Earth's safety at heart and were committed to get her off planet. Now, forget all that saving her from the fire, after 12 days they just want to get her into their custody and grill her themselves. And also an odd turn seen this week, in the displeasing New Avengers #27 http://members3.boardhost.com/H4H/msg/1340231230.html we see they take her to train her to handle the PF afterall?! Rubbish. And taking her temporarily to the other dimension of K'un Lunn doesn't count either. Though Danny (finally) mentioning a portal prooobably suggest the City is out of Earth alignment currently, Yu Ti still insists the PF is a destructive threat there with it's link to Earth.

Maybe one of the crossovers will have someone ask the PF5 that turning point question in-story - to offer some hindsight consolation. Maaaybe the visions of Wanda and Yu Ti were intended as the turning point halfway thru the 12 issues. Xavier showing up? Nah, can't be that. At this point, turning me off A vs X, was the Phoenix Five SUDDENLY ruling the Earth.
