As mentioned in the Marvel Universe thread, it's very possible we'll see more of Namor. We were promised a "Namor: The First Inhuman" story to coincide with Secret Wars, but we still haven't seen it. Either Marvel tossed the idea, or it's just delayed.

Do they want to use that old thing about him having the powers of sea creatures? Starfish and others can grow back body parts.

Isn't that Aquaman (or an aquatic version of Animal Man)? I don't remember Namor having those powers and I know I've read the classic Namor series in the 70's and the one in the 90's.

He was just super strong, invulnerable, got strength from water, flew and once in a blue moon was immune to electricity when the writers remembered that he had that power. His powers were never so esoteric from what I can recall.

Still doesn't make this any better.

They weren't no, but in recent years his biology and abilities have been expanded upon. In the recent New Avengers by Jonathan Hickman we saw him suffer a seemingly killing blow from a knife thanks to The Black Panther initiating a carefully coordinated attack and despite a fate that seemed impossible for him to survive survive it he did.
James Robinson himself showed Namor to have formidable recuperative abilities in his All-New Invaders series, a few short years ago we saw him similarly take severe attacks from Wolverine and Venom in Matt Cherniss' short Sub-Mariner series.
I don't suggest Namor can quickly grow a new head or body like a Starfish might, but rather he can cling on to life even in this dismembered state. As the bottom line is he isn't human. He isn't necessarily just another Mutant either, rather he is somewhat unique...
