I have this Annual and tellingly I remember not a thing about it, though the Scarlet Witch strip brings back faint echoes as it was a sequal and closure to the Immortus storyline and designed to bring her back into Avengers service refreshed.

How utterly of its time this Annual is, pumped out inconsequential product with Darkhawk as 'Special Guest Star'... what excitement. Darkhawk was one of many new and forgettable characters created to fill new books, and while easy to dismiss now due to the dullness of their books, the characters like Darkhawk and Terror Inc who came out of this era of oversaturation mark the last of a time when Marvel had creators and a regime that could, and would, create new things... forgettable though they might have been... \(coffee\)

I always liked Darkhawk when he appeared in New Warriors related stories. He had good banter with Speedball and Nova.

His series sucked but he was actually a fun character when he wasn't in his own book. He's not enough of an alpha male to carry his own book IMO...he works great on a team.

I also really liked him in the War of Kings crossover and that spiteful retcon that retconned his entire 90's series as a hallucination in favor of the Fraternity of Raptors concept.
