Thanks for clarifying:) Why wait when it seemed parts of the plot needed to be out for his Avengers/ Secret Wars plot to make sense in the first place?

I agree. But I was similarly underwhelmed by his Fantastic Four run, despite the critical acclaim. So why introduce the Starchild and Celestial Madonna plot? Was he attempting to upend Englehart's previous revelations? And what was the deal of Isaac Newton having sex with a Deviant called Morga? Was he trying to rewrite the tale of Phaedar similarly fathering Maelstrom on Morga which Gruenwald wrote some thirty years earlier? Just what was he up to?
