That was such a grabber cover back then! Notice how for some time when forums are discussing the "women in Hawkeye's life", does it seem that Karla Moonstone Sofen is often overlooked? These online scans prompts the question: Who will be the next Bullpen Writer to give a hoot about Moonstone again.

Blue Angel was not the best Angel but he was skyhigh better than the treatment he's getting now (the both of them are getting).

Totally forgot how they paid continuity respect back then - with the Champscar!

Charcoal was created in a create a character contest in Wizard. The couple (Wallace Frost and Nadja Frost) who created him apparently never got their prizes from Wizard and later tried to claim they owned the character. Fabian Nicieza eventually had Charcoal killed by Graviton but had plans to bring him back but his editor told him they weren't bringing him back due to all the hassle the creators were causing.

The couple who created him created the Charcoal persona but I think Kurt Busiek created everything else like his human identity Charles Burlingame.

As for this issue...I hated Moonstone with Hawkeye. I warmed up a little more to it when Nicieza was writing it but I never liked the "romance" when Busiek was writing it.
