[EDIT and Proper English question: Does the "he" in sentence above refer to Patriot II, noun, or the Patriot III, noun, as written? What punctuation is needed to refere to "the other" nonun". It can't be inflection - or is it a poorly written sentence. Just bugged me and was too lazy to try to look it up to see if there was a quick answer?]

Patriot III is talking about Patriot II. Patriot III wouldn't be using third person to refer to himself... I hope.

It's using spoken English which often ignores grammar rules and omits words that tend to be easily assumed. Technically, it should be: "There was. He gave it up. I emailed him back before the takeover. He said that he was working voter registration in Arizona."

And it's sort of odd that Eli would be working voter registration in Arizona of all places. I thought he'd be a hometown New Yorker.
