Quote:When the shipping figures dropped from more than 200K to just 29K with #2, you knew the writing was on the wall straight away for this book.
Quote:Personally I thought it was a book that embodied everything wrong with the Avengers consept in recent years - characters not worthy of the title, and a concept spread far too thin.
The Avengers have now allowed in Wolverine and Deadpool. The days when we could say the Avengers are too good for this character or that character are over. Now they're a bunch of low class schmucks like the rest of us.
I'm talking as much about the profile of the characters as I am about their personalities.
Maybe theres an argument against letting Deadpool or Wolverine on the team, but is that argument really any stronger than the one against letting an ex Soviet assassin and saboteur on the team?
Personally I'll settle for them being interesting - something Squirrel Girl, the new Iron Patriot, Tom Selleck Red Hulk, and Pod are not.
