Planet Bast? Intergalactic Empire of Wakanda?

About the only thing in the story that interested me.

I guess Wakandans are like f*ck earth we'll just go start our own planet. And considering they have the best technology I can't really blame them.

It kinda goes against the idea we always see in Star Trek. Every nation on a planet solves their problems and comes together and then joins the Federation.

I think the idea of individual countries (or groups of countries) founding their own empires would just be more interesting. The Wakandans are so sick of the prejudice and violence on earth they decided to skedaddle and take their super technology with them.

Massive over-isolationists? But they're going to have an intergalactic empire? Makes no sense. I don't think they would know how. You have to be social for that, and they're not.
