I was misremembering something. After Talan died Namora tried to get with a Lemurian guy named Merro but Llyra and Byrrah killed Namora via poisoning and then later they killed Merro and that's how Llyra became queen of Lemuria. I forgot the Merro part of the equation.

I guess this is why the Agents of Atlas (and presumably everyone else) believed Namora was dead until M-11 proved otherwise in dramatic fashion. Namora's fierce loyalty to M-11 in the face of M-11's seeming non-sentience made a very strong impression on me. One of my deepest convictions is reciprocity. Save me and I will save you, no questions asked. I completely understood Namora's position on this. Maybe M-11 was sentient. Maybe M-11 wasn't. (Back then we didn't know.) But M-11 had saved Namora from oblivion when no other entity in all the universe had. She would stand between M-11 and doom without question and without counting the cost. Even now I react emotionally to this.
