In my opinion the book needs some of the “West Coast” flair and reasons for the characters to be centered there and as stated by others on the post, it needs to be separate from the main book. I would like to see a team that recognizes that the avengers have lost their way and need to be more selective with their members. EVERYONE should NOT be able to be an Avenger, this should be a position to strive for not a position you get because you were there at the right time for the right team up (and yes I know that is how the original team got started, but the concept grew from there)

    So I would say:

    Hawkeye

    Simon Williams

TBH, those three have lost their way more than the Avengers have. The Avengers never really were selective about membership, and two of those spotlight that fact. There's not a single recent (past decade) member of Avengers that was less worthy of being Avengers than Clint and Simon. But they were.
