Did they ever explain the corruption in the Gotham PD and Jim Gordon's return to Commish status? Or is everyone just satisified with "Gordon's just back"?

You have to know if these detectives ran across something during their travels they would feel morally obligated to investigate. It would also be cool to explore the training and rites that they may have undergone as well. Also, it would just be cool to see them more as people exploring their own psyches as they travel. I would LOVE to see this as a 12-part miniseries or something - BATMAN: THE MISSING YEAR. Perhaps they'll just explore this year in single issues periodically in the regular books? Still, would be a good read.

Probably the latter. He's Gordon. He's supposed to be Commissioner. \:\)

However, I'm liking this "Batman: The Missing Year" mini-series idea. I hope DC picks up on it. I think there would be a lot of interest in it.

Also, let me say, back in the day we had Lois Lane and Jimmy Olsen with books of their own, yet we never had an ongoing Commissioner Gordon comic. I think the time is ripe for one. Sure, he's old, but so are a lot of Bat-fans. Like me, for instance. \:\)

I picture Batman popping up in Gordon's presence at random times like he always does, but the bulk of the comic would be devoted to Commissioner Gordon doing police work and trying to survive both physically and mentally. Greg Rucka might be a good choice to write it.
