1. Many characters seem to have the "DO NOT KILL" shield around them, and I think it's a good bet that he's one of them. Oh it might LOOK like he's dead it was with Bruce after Darkseid zapped him...

2. There is talk on assorted comic news sites about something called Batman INC. that will start after Bruce is restored.

I suspect that Bruce will reclaim the identity of the Batman but also realize that Dick is just as worthy and shouldn't be pushed back into being Nightwing....so we get multiple Batmen.

Gotham is a big city, can one man in a Bat costume really protect the entire city every night? For every small crime that Batman would stop, ie: muggings, robberies, etc. How many OTHER crimes are being committed? For every super villain plot that Bruce must foil, how many other criminals carry out their plans knowing that Batman is too busy at the moment?

I wouldn't put the act of killing Dick past the PTB at DC--Dan Didio intended to kill Grayson off during INFINITE CRISIS, after all, and he only won a reprieve because various creators like Waid and Rucka lobbied to save him.

Of course, after reviewing the recent solicitations from Diamond/DC and the LA Times interview with Morrison, I've changed my mind and I'm thinking Dick will be kept around in the guise of a Batman for a while at least. Also, it hit me that in BATMAN # 666 Damian references the bargain he made with the Devil "at the crossroads on the night the Batman died". Later, he mentions being fourteen when he made the bargain. If I remember correctly, Damian was ten years old when introduced in "Batman and Son", putting him at no more than eleven, now. That should give Dick three solid years (DC Universe time, I can't begin to calculate real time) before he cashes it in.
