He culled the last of the "MAN" from Batman, which I was not fond of. I can name a lot of writers I think are better, O'Neil of course, but also, Moench, Dixon, almost every writer of the first 100 issues of Legends of the Dark Knight(except for Morrison, I thought his was lame), Wein, Dini, Grant. Oh yeah, and Englehart. How could I forget Englehart. What they all have in common is they wrote Batman as a person. Morrison has not been shy that he thinks that the main characters of DC should be just archetypes. That is not my speed. I think it is a weird tun for who is often called "the most human superhero." I actually thought all the Batman stories around his run were better. Robinson, Dini, even Winnick...all great. Morrison, not a big fan.. except Club of heroes and 666. Sort of. | |||||||
