Quote:Panther's had an X-Men crossover and some form of involvement in crossovers since day 1. He married Storm. Marvel is trying to make him the figure head of the international resistance to the Registration Act while also making him a member of the FF. He's certainly alot more high profile than he was under Priest.
It seems more like gimmicks than anything of real importance. Venom when he became an anti-hero had tons of crossovers too, was a part of the Marvel Universe, teamed up with several superheroes and he was still relegated to being a background character. Every time I hear about Civil War I hear about Iron Man, Captain America and Spider-Man not about Black Panther. Sure Black Panther appeared in the Marvel crossover but what has he done other than beat an Iron Man robot with Black Panther armor, nothing. He talked to Namor, but it lead to nothing. Spider-Man is still on the run and Captain America still got shot. Where is Black Panther during all this? He is in back doing nothing. Black Panther's marriage to Storm, I think actually makes Black Panther less important not more so, because his comic book becomes nothing more than about Storm married to some guy instead of than about Black Panther. Although like you said the marriage did bring some recognotion to Black Panther.
