> McDuffie's a fine writer, but he's also a respectful writer. Normally that's not a problem, but with Hudlin's writing, it is. I've little doubt McDuffie will follow Hudlin's characterization, and I'm not fond of that.

That's my biggest fear with Hudlin's version of BP in the "New" FF. If McDuffie doesn't rely HEAVILY on BP's tech savvy like Priest did (especially since they are now supposedly setting up an American base in the Baxter Building full of Reed's toys and gadgets), I will be highly upset.

Marvel sloppily opened up all of BP's history to draw from again...and Hudlin even pulled out the Kimoyo Card from out of the old shoe box under BP's bed. If McDuffie doesn't write BP the way he should be written, and in effect "dumbs down" BP to not outpace Hudlin, then BP's stint in the FF will be a huge waste of ink and a tragedy to say the least.

But whatever McDuffie does, Just Leave That Wack Ebony Blade Home in the Closet.

Or as Brother James would have BP Say;

Dialogue
---------------------------------
Ben Grimm (to T'Challa): "Whatchoo gonna do with the Team Now???"

T'Challa: "Ben...I don't know. But Whassinever I Do, It's Got To Be Funky!!!"

Ororo: "Yeah........."

Johnny (in the background, watching a rerun of "Friends"): "There goes the neighborhood."
---------------------------------

I don't understand. You complain about Hudlin supposedly not showing Panther's tech savy, yet complain about Hudlin using the Kimoyo Card.

Hudlin has NOT established Panther as less tech savy than Priest. He may or may not have written the use of it as skillfully as Priest, but he has not contradicted it and clearly has attempted to show it. Panther tech gets them into and out of 42 and Panther tech puts Doom on the ropes. Panther tech deactivates Widows stingers. Panther tech may allow Blackbolt to speak safely and sends Panther and Storm to the moon more efficiently. Panther tech creates armor comparable to Tony's. Panther tech allows the Dora Milaje to take down a sentinal easily. McDuffie has all the room in the world to use tech as he pleases and staying reasonably consistant with Hudlin's Panther would not mean dumbing him down.

I agree with this. Same for the armor.
