#29: http://www.popcultureshock.com/black-panther-29-preview/42257/Hated the misleading cover and Previously Page with Panther zombified. This is more or less the exact same story bite as last issue (some funny zombie banter and technically good art detail, granted). Paying for the same stuff seems wasteful. The story once again is laid out in (banner freindly) cinematic panels and this issue was like an Act 2 where you can sneak out for popcorn. Nothing really changed. A vote on the FFMB might side over50% with removing T'Challa&Ororo from the team but regardless of my vote, I would argue that Black Panther is presented as a GOOD team leader here. The interesting element was the comments by the FF that were translatable to the 616 reality -- eg. Storm thinks Luke Cage is dumb. It was good to see the Big Bug as a zombie if it leads to a recurring villain role. The possibility of the Frog's sentience was okay too as was it's prizeworthiness. Also when Johnny sees Lyja again in 616 this version encounter will have an impact as it definitely should. The CBMB will be pleased with the prospect of the last panel and the last catch phrase was inevitable but had to be said.

I am having a really hard time getting into this Panther zombie stuff. I feel like Panther and Storm have not done anything meaningful since their marriage, and in my opinion that is a waste of two great characters. Plus, I don't think Hudlin is that great of a writer, although his 'Civil War' arc was very interesting (I still need to get my hands on the Panther 'Civil War' trade.
T'Challa and Ororo are the King and Queen of Wakanda...they're ROYALTY, but they're currently fighting zombies. I don't get it.
Hopefully the next arcs in Black Panther and the Fantastic Four will be good.
