I love the Black Panther, and I always have. Black Panther is one of my top 5 Superheroes of all time. I enjoyed the Kirby series and the Mcgregor one. However I was in heaven when Priest did the definative take on BP with the late 90s Marvel Knights Black Panther Title. I enjoyed Priest's sophisticated and thought provoking stories. It did my heart good to read about T'challa for longer than any other writer could take him. It lasted for 49 issues to be exact (I don't count Kasper Cole BP), and I was sad to see it end.

When I heard Reginald Hudlin was going to do another Black Panther book, once again I got excited about seeing one of my favorite heroes in action again. It was immediately evident that Hudlin's Panther lacked the political intrigue and sophisticated storylines of Priest. However his stories were enjoyable nonetheless, and entertainment is what comic books are for!

Despite the vocal opposition to Hudlin's Black Panther, it is the 2nd most successful BP title ever with 29 issues and counting. WIth the brilliant moves of having T'challa marry Storm, and joining the Fantastic Four, I think Hudlin has a good chance of surpassing Priest's record run for the character. Personally I hope that he does, and will continue to give my $$$ to make this happen.

if success is based on the # of issues released, Hudlin's run is 2nd...but if its best on stories, character development, etc.

uh not so much
