from what we've seen so far in the Panther comics, it can either be held in a separate container, or "automatically" come on, like a sheathe--

also, the Ebony blade curse has not been dealt with yet-- so far, he hasn't killed/hurt anyone but vampires-- who are already dead-- so maybe the bloodlust curse hasn't activated yet--
