People can't accept that he's dead.

If someone mentions Hudlin's Black Panther I automatically think of Christopher Priest's Black Panther and Don McGregor's Black Panther. Then I think that Hudlin probably built upon their work and came up with better material, but sadly I soon realize that Hudlin did not even bother to be a writer.

I presume you're speaking figuratively, but even so that's hardly accurate Hudlin. As a writer he's hardly tapped out. But as a man, he's clear shown that he's sick and tired of the institutions he has to put up with to get published.

As the first African American writer, he functionally opened the door for others and took plenty of career hits because of it. It's a shame that one later writer who benefited from Priest's work, deliberately tried to do away with Priest's biggest writing legacy.
