> Loren whats your surprise?? I've never seen Marvel or DC actually alter the words of a jacket quote before, while still keeping the quote marks around it. Maybe they do it in other places (I haven't checked), but that would just make it worse. Just imagine what the reaction would be if Warner Brothers got caught changing reviewer quotes they used in their movie ads to make the reviewers sound more positive. Not just selectively quoting, or even manipulating through the use of ellipsis (which would still be frowned upon), but actively changing and replacing words to punch it up. > every time a Marvel or DC executive, creator or editor or wahtever talks about their comics they always say: wow, this is going to be great, really, the best comic of teh decade, blah bla bla... Of course I don't expect a publisher to put a negative review on the jacket. That's silly. But I expect them to be honest with the ones they *do* use. | |||||||
