> I started getting into BlackPanther during the period when Geoff Johns was writing the Avengers and the Black Panther took out the Red Skull. I even enjoyed the political clashes bwt him and Iron Man.
> When the new series came out in 2005, I was impressed by the back history and political intrigue. Further, the re-introduction of Storm into T'Challa's life and then the marriage was fantastic and changed the Marvel Universe.
> However, the downfall of the current series began after Civil War when BP and Storm joined the FF. The series lost its luster, the political intrigue and a chance to focus on the new first couple of the Marvel Universe.
> The Secret Invasion tie-ins were fantastic! A vast improvement since the stories in Civil War. Then I just picked up the Storm solo title X-Men: World's Apart which had an impressive first issue.
> Unfortunately, Marvel has to fem a classic character. I'm not interested in the Black Pantheress. I am interested in Black Panther & Storm.

Thanks for the link and news SOH, I logged in hoping to have some news, but this...what a bunch of Idiots...There is no enough liquor on earth to sink this news if it goes through...so much potential wasted, and now they give up on the character instead of upgrading the stories...

If they insist on having a pantheress, here is a suggestion: Explore the mutual mistrust between BP and Iron-man when it comes to the powered community. Have the clash rise to a level so dangerous that they have to find something to appease the tension. That thing being reintroducing Mr. Ross as a U.S emissary to Wakanda, and Introducing Shuri (T'Challa's sister who is begging for a larger role) as her brother's replacement among the avengers (initiative).

That way you'll have your pantheress and we will see how T'challa becomes that tactitian genius again by using Ross and Shuri behind doors (or watch how their allegiance would be tested). In the meantime, T'Challa and Storm can move to higher level of adventures, threats or conflicts that a true writer can explore with those fantastic characters.

Guess we'll all be wearing black for T'challa soon...

Peace out
