I thought the new Black Panther #2 was good...I just wonder if we are purposely being led to believe that the new Panther has really been chosen. Marvel could definitely be playing tricks with us.
As things stand now, I don't think the choice has OFFICALLY been made yet, since the Panther God has to make the decision.

> Now believe it or not, last year, I wrote a mock BP storyline (even sent it to Marvel, of course response was 0), but in my stroyline I did put T'challa out of commission (although not in a coma), I appointed a New BP to the avengers (the same replacement Hudlin Picked so far), I had the queen in charge facing an invasion, and in my storyline, the invasion or uprising was coming from another Wakanda Cult, previously outlawed, almost as powerful as the Panther Cult, and whose symbol was the most powerful predator in Africa: The Lion. I also had other cults such as the Hyena, the Black mamba and others vying for power.

Neat stuff. And if not Mari Jiwe McCabe, it looks like this totem thing might tie in with Peter Benjamin Parker the mention of Morlun and animal(ie.lion) cult in next issues solicit:

Yeah, he was caught off guard and off his game here -- on the other hand the ish did give Dr Doom an excellent showing.
Liked immediate focus done on supporting cast members -- a good series needs 'em and it set up the Wakanda situation well.
Black Panthers ability to discern the REAL Dr Doom is noteworthy -- as was the proficiency of the Dora Milaje shown.
The big fight was layed out very nicely -- though in hindsight maybe T'Challa should've asked Penance to tag along
