This was a great discussion, BTW. I too am a fan of the Priest run (though I have yet to read the entire run). How did T'Challa end up in Hells Kitchen?

I do have another question... of all the vibranium running around the Marvel Universe, how much of it is derived from Wakanda? How much Wakanda tech is out there in there?

For being technologically advanced and housing such a rare/valuable material, Wakanda (in and of itself) seems to have very little expore. You would think that world powers (foreign governments/agencies.. like the US or SHIELD, super villians and even other super heroes) would swarm to Wakanda. Moreso, it would seem like more stories (outside The Black Panther books) should take place in Wakanda.

What are everyone's thoughts on this?

Wakanda for centuries has been a closed society which very much limits its interaction with the outside world. In fact, when T'Challa and Ororo got married, the Wakanda officials had to have hotels built to accomodate the guests since they rarely allow visitors there (with some notable exceptions, of course).

The Wakandans tended to hoarde the vibranium primarily for their own uses, as well as their technology. I think T'Challa has probably shared some of their tech with the Avengers, since the Wakandan Design Group was at one time building their quinjets for them.

My understanding is that, until recently, Wakanda was the largest source of vibranium in the world. A second source of vibranium is the Savage Land, but theirs is a less pure form of the metal called "secondary vibranium." The Wakandan version was "pure vibranium."

Hope this helps.
