Quote:I don't think T'Challa was lying because he wouldn't need to. I think T'Challa WITHOUT the heart-shaped herb is peak human, just like Bruce Wayne/Batman is peak human.
The whole peak human thing confuses me. I thought it meant slightly stronger and slightly faster than any unenhanced human. Thus if Steve Rogers or T'Challa fortified by the Panter Herb went to the Olympics, they'd win every contest - but just barely. Meanwhile, Batman would be a contender in every contest but might lose a few, especially on a day when he had to compete multiple times in a row, as he would get tired.
Quote:I'm guessing that when T'Challa DOES use the heart-shaped herb, he is beyond peak-human.
If so, then he's beyond Captain America, which I didn't think was the case.
Quote:Although I do think Marvel does make it difficult to sometimes differentiate between peak human and super-human...I'm not sure if Black Panther becomes super-human once he takes the herb.
He never seemed superhuman to me, although he seemed better than anyone I've ever met in the real world, which is how I interpret peak human.
Quote:But without the herb and the cat powers, I definitely think he is peak human, like Batman.
I'm cool with T'Challa without the herb being equivalent to Batman. That makes sense to me. But I wouldn't have said Batman was equivalent to Captain America. Not that I think there's a huge difference - just a slight one. Otherwise I'm lost as to what the Super Soldier Serum or the Panther Herb does.
Peak human is the maximum level of physical human condition. An Olympic level athlete can be peak human. T'Challa, when taking the herb, had abilities slightly in excess of peak human. His strength and his speed exceeded that of peak human, if only slightly. It also explains his ability to see in the dark.
Without it, he is at peak human, not unlike Steve Rogers.
