    Quote:
Peak human is the maximum level of physical human condition. An Olympic level athlete can be peak human. T'Challa, when taking the herb, had abilities slightly in excess of peak human. His strength and his speed exceeded that of peak human, if only slightly. It also explains his ability to see in the dark.

    Quote:
Without it, he is at peak human, not unlike Steve Rogers.

Steve Rogers might be the fly in that ointment. How was he unique if Olympic athletes were as awesome as him? I have an answer, but first -

I never got the impression T'Challa would beat Steve Rogers in an arm wrestle or the fifty yard dash. You did? I agree about T'Challa having feline senses. This allowed him to match Daredevil in certain scenarios, like fighting in the dark.

Here's the answer I mentioned above: I think peak human must be a range. I'm betting you agree with this and were probably implying it in what you wrote. Olympic athletes (and Batman) would be at the bottom of this range. Steve Rogers and T'Challa would be at the top. It's a narrow range, much narrower than the superhuman one, but still, "some peak humans are more peak than others," as T'Challa himself suggested.

But I don't see why T'Challa would be at the top or even the middle of the peak human range without the Panther Herb. He should be at the bottom of it. Without the Herb he's just a guy.
