I would add Shuri ( his sister) to the list. At one time I'm sure Ororro was on the list as well. Maybe Steve Rogers. Given his personality and his stature; he doesn't have a large 'inner circle'. That's probably the way it should be. How many monarchs do you know that have a large inner circle.

I wish I could agree with Steve Rogers being on the list, but after Hickman's story line, I can't. Hickman made it too obvious that Steve just doesn't think like T'Challa. An inner circle usually consists of like-minded individuals. do need people to tell you when you're wrong.

I would say Steve and Reed are his closest American friends.

I seem to remember a Priest Black Panther issue where Iron Man presumed they were friends and T'Challa rebuked him saying Iron Man has never once sought his friendship.

There was also a time when Reed Richards might have been on the list. Maybe he still is. He and T'Challa were on the same wavelength during as much of Hickman's story line as I managed to read before I lost patience with it. Back in the Silver Age, Reed and T'Challa had great mutual respect for one another and trusted one another implicitly. But back in the Silver Age, Reed was a man's man and a hero's hero. Modern writers have made him some sort of emotional cripple.

For Reed's part I would say T'Challa is someone he considers a friend. But I think Steve sees T'Challa that way too.

To me Hickman's storyline gave me the bad feeling that Steve blamed the whole mess on Tony and honestly Reed, T'Challa and even Dr. Strange were being more underhanded than Tony IMO.
