Black Panther 011 (2017)

This was a pretty good end to the mediocre opening series arc and political civil war that had befallen Wakanda. There was sufficient Black Panther facetime and notable showings by him as King of the Dead. There was also more intriguing revelations with Shuri's new status quo. The cover was more than decent and including Manifold and Ghost T'Chaka was bonus on top of the Roll Call. The action art, in general, and execution of the plan of T'Challa were clean enough for entertainment value.

I got the different cover ( different iterations of the Black Panther and Griot) which was just freaking beautiful.

This story could have been told in 8 issues, but it was a satisfying ending...mostly,
*We have to get a full description of Griot (Shuri's) power set. I'm loving what I see, and I'll get it some time, but explain what she can do.

*Tetu. Lord forgive me, but kill him already. The arrogance, the deceit. "You are not adored" that's only the half of it. Loved when BP repeated his line from the movie. here here. LOVE IT!

*Zenzi this storyline is the first I've ever heard of her. Didn't like her in the beginning, still don't; but I understand her a little better now. I also rejected that she knew when she was defeated.

Akili is no White Wolf, but I guess that is the point. Seems like a good heir to Zuri. Side note: WHEN DID THEY TAKE ZURI AND W'KABI?!!?!?! ARRGH! Loved those guys from Priest's run. Thankfully, they are going to be in the movie. Phew!

King of the Dead. Okay. Nice power to have. Is Eden alive or dead? I thought he was dead, but he's not a shade like everyone else. Maybe due to his power, his 'death' doesn't manifest like everyone else? BP should only be able to use this power infrequently. Used too much, it loses its gravitas.

Changy's speech was nice. I could see how it would turn some heads, but not all. Just like real life.

A war without too much blood. Utterly unrealistic, but a nice goal (sorry, I'm dark). Like that the good guys won without too much loss of life. Thought that the midnight angels would be involved, but on the side of BP/Griot. Guess that was too much to ask.

And there's my disappointment with the finale. IS BP still king or is Shuri queen? Why wasn't T'Challa at the table with his sister? Yes, the 'fallout' will be shown next issue. It's not a big thing...and it probably prevented another fight from happening; but I thought it would be nice for T'Challa to be at the table as well.

Oh well. Nice issue. I am happy ( I know it's sometimes hard to tell).
