"... to deal with immediate hazards the Avengers cannot." To sum up, the new series is yet another generic Avengers spin-off with a name that mirrors Agents of Atlas (or Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. ?) and nearly the same goal than Secret Avengers (except that they don't have the same modus operandi at all. They react like an emergency unit instead). I don't even understand why they are called Agents of Wakanda (= a country) if they are supposed to be the intelligence unit and backup team of the Avengers. Also, if the Agents of Wakanda are supposed to be more discreet than the main Avengers team, why did T'Challa recruit the Wasp who is said to be, in the picture, a "frequent target of the paparazzi" ? Does the Wasp realize that she has officially become a foreign government agent working for Okoye, the field commander of the Wakandan special forces ? Do Roz Solomon & American Eagle realize it ? Why does T'Challa say "my agents" if Okoye is the director of the Agents of Wakanda ? With the same title, I would have imagined an entirely different concept and, in my view, much more original. I would have focused the book on the actual Wakandan agencies : Dora Milaje, Hatut Zeraze, the acolytes of the Panther Cult, the Musketeers of the royal family ... The series would have focused on political power games. | |||||||
