Well Rage murdered the guy who led the gang that killed his grandmother. And then Night Thrasher 1 lied to the cops and the DA's office and got the case dismissed.

I know that he has committed crime in the past, but in relation to the content of this particular issue he is entirely innocent.

So the justice system has worked in Rage's favor when he's been guilty. Now when he's innocent and deprived of Dwayne Taylor's fortune it doesn't.

And perhaps theres another message there about who the justice system really serves - those with money.

    Quote:
and who has the least money, as well as the freedom and opportunity that money buys? Primarily blacks and other ethnic groups.

    Quote:
More than 20 years of studying and working within the justice system have shown me time and time again that the primary reasons black people end up in the system isnt because they are directly discriminated against by racist cops in one-off incidents like Spencer seems to think (although of course this does sometimes happen), but because they are indirectly discriminated against throughout their entire life by systems that restrict their access to things such as education, opportunity, and employment, and vastly increase the liklihood of getting involved in criminality.

I work in a district attorney's office and I see that. BUT white or black when you commit a violent crime on an innocent I find it hard to feel sympathy for the suspect. Although one thing I notice is a lot of times our victims aren't any better than our suspects...we'll have suspects that we went after that pop back up as victims further down the road or vice versa. It's a vicious cycle I guess.

    Quote:
There are few innocent people in prison, but what you will see amongst all of those in prison are the same trends - broken homes, unemployment, illiteracy, abusive backgrounds - and you will see those trends regardless of skin colour.

    Quote:
But yeah, according to Spencer all white cops are racist, black people are *only* criminalised because of direct racism mainly by racist white cops, and the only innocent people in prisons are black.
