Quote:Y'may or may not realize my critical comments of inordinate amount of time and space wasted, for chunks of issue after issue in Cap's book, showing a flashbacks of a Kobik-altered HYDRA-Steve Rogers past. It made no sense how it could be real and not some Cosmic Cube induced illusion/delusion for Steve, with a dash of reality physical transformation to a youthful super soldier thrown in. But in/directly Marvel has (recently?) confirmed that it was actual reality that's been altered - so it has to be taken as fact even though almost no evidence of a Butterfly Effect, to the Present, convinces us that 616 is a changed timeline. Uhm. Well, Fine. Okay. Stranger things have happened. It's not Marvel would lie to us...
Well that actually makes more sense not less. Some cosmic power changing certain events but keeping other ones is logical I guess. More so than that Steve's past being changed because of a secret wars multiverse reshuffling...with that there should be butterfly effects. With a god like being involved you can just assume the god like being was god like and wants things a certain way.
It's kind of like that annoying spear of destiny plot on the CW show Legends of Tomorrow. With that item of power you don't have to deal with butterfly effects or paradoxes...it creates the reality you want and it doesn't have to be logically consistent. Same with Kobik...she's a god...doesn't have to make sense.

Quote:All but the last 3 pages are spotlight on Present Bucky, alone, sent to relive this his time during this Kobik-altered HYDRA-Steve Rogers past! First of all UGH to that. Secondly, it totally seems that this Cosmic Cube created timeline is NOT what universally/actually happened to the Earth. Only the couple of individuals that Kobik specifically has picked so far know it as a 'real past' because when Bucky went back it was all news to him. Maybe Cap, Skull, selvig, and Zemo have accepted the change so to only them the delusion/illusion is 'real' in all ways physically to the present. Which means maybe Marvel was deliberately feeding us misinformation/disinformation exclusive to the Cap books to promote the Secret Empire Event unfolding. Maybe fans were being reasonable when complaining how wonky this prolonged set-up has been playing out since Pleasant Hill?
