Supes has been exposed to it from an infant to an adult which is over 30 plus years. Super Girl on the other hand was exposed as a teenager which means she could absorb it a faster rate than a baby but her exposure time has only been a few years (maybe even less since her ship was stuck in the middle of an Asteroid for part of the trip to Earth). Since Superman has had the longest overall exposure then he theoretically should be the stronger but has just been holding back (according to him) when dealing with Super girl. Thats just my opinion... I could be wrong.

Lord Majestros:
Kara's ship had a yellow solar energy projector on it. We can't say for sure how much of the time that she was on the ship (from when Krypton exploded until she landed on earth) that her body was exposed to the solar energy, but she was definitely exposed prior to landing on earth as she had full powers when she first came out of the ship. Also, she was exposed to concentrated, unfiltered solar radiation as there was nothing to filter any of it on the ship. Also, her body wasn't expending her solar reserves as much since she was in suspended animation.

But does that make up for the 15 plus years of absorption that Supes would have had from age 16 (assuming that is the age that solar absorption starts for Kryptonians) ?
