I agree with you. We have no idea what effect that tesseract bomb would have actually had on Superman. It could have shredded him to goop, could have hurt a whole lot, could have done nothing to him, etc. The comic simply does not show what would have happened if Superman had taken that blast.

Personally, I don't see how anyone can conclude or guesstimate that Superman either could or could not have endured that bomb on the basis of what the comic shows -- which is absolutely nothing with respect to Superman.

At the end of the day, we just don't know what would have happened. Saying that he could or could not have survived the tesseract bomb on the basis of what's in the issue is wishful thinking either way, I think. How do you want Superman to react to it?
