specifically the ones who seem to elude "Parker Luck" moments as well winning all the time. does it actually get in the way of character development and reader interest?

Ubber popular characters are nearly always sure to get too much of it. Sometimes tho it can backfire into devellopping impopularity amongs some fans.

Superman get incredible respect but is victim of being the measuring stick whitch can cause him to be a punching bag just to demonstrate how powerful the new guy is... and sometimes the punching bag period is long... too long. But I generaly agree he got ubber respect. But being Iconic will do that. From the POV of a non fan I can see why they view it as too much some times. But hey since I'M sure plentyyyyy of people are going to puke on him I'll stop here and let them do a better job then me. ;-p

Wolverine also has ubber respect and treatement even in the middle of the likes of super popular x-mens.

Batman also got the iconic treatment and is one of the rare guys who can touch superman despite having no freeking business in his ballpark. I love batman in HIS comic. Outside of it I would murder him times upon times.

Hulk when, it comes to strenght, got the political treatement too. No matter who you are you will be smashed. Sometimes its stretching the "incredible" out of the hulk a bit too far. Pak, IMHO, went too far. Much like many could say casey went too far with supes... I vote for casey writing both hulk and superman. My life on the BB would be soooo nice and funny \:\-D

Thor and surfer are a mixed bag. They get both too much and too little respect. They get too little when they job like idiots but too much when they portray them as arrogant bastard that SHOULD win due to their *ahem* divine/cosmic heritage. You are powerful but... I am a *GOD*/I am POWER lame one liner. Every time I read something like that I wish them a mast and a sledge hammer respectively. But honestly where I feel they get too much respect is on this board. They should have plenty of respect but sometimes it goes beyond reasonable. My feeling on the subject anyway.

Doom can get too respect too sometimes. Insert 'prep' in a sentence and its a win for doom. Lame, very lame. Sometimes, writers should be less lazy with him.

The supreme winner IMHO is definatly... THANOS. That bastard I originally like beacause that style of villain always appeal me but writers are breast feeding him literally nearly all the times. Nothing is too good to show him in a good light. (Man will I get flame for this lol )

there are probably many others but thats my contribution. \:\-D
