I always wonder why people say things like "PERIOD" in a discussion forum. Oh well.

Him. Not necessarily the gauntlet. Recall that an argument put forward by Warlock at the trial was that if a being like Eternity got the gems, he might not view himself as below the LT any longer. The gems quite possibly represent the power of the being which CREATED TOAA. Bear in mind that Thanos described the heart of the universe as comparable to the gems, but while the gems were EXTERNAL, the HOTU was INTERNAL. This seems to agree that the both tap into the same absolute power source.

In a fit of rage. Galactus could restore SS if someone with the gauntlet beat him to hell - it doesn't make him stronger.

He argued he was more powerful. Warlock was not convinced. The LT recognized Warlock's mastery of time, and Warlock completed the LT's sentence in which he confided he was not sure he could BEAT Warlock. This mind you, is a measure of Warlock's limit, not the gem's limit.
| > Except that TOAA is GOD in Marvel, and LT has SUPREME jurisdiction over the marvel Multiverse. Period...|
That's certainly one way to look at it. Another is that the Infinity Being destroyed itself and gave birth to the MU. In this scenario the gems tap into the fundamental powers superior to TOAA.
