No more conjecture than him "needing" or "wanting" help. All we get from the panel is him holding her in a full nelson and the other two taking advantage of her in that position.

Again, you don't see how she gets out so it is moot. Hercules ends up out of her hold in the first fight.

Nothing is distorted. Yes, a challenge was made, yet she interrupted the fight mode by questioning him. He went into an explaination and was hit mid-sentence. At that point, he was not "at the ready".

Strawman. You said that she pummeled him. No, she hit him hard enough to make him fly back. They very well could have been showing how powerful she is, yet that doesn't equate to her pummeling him. She didn't pummel Superman, yet I'm sure that her victory over Superman was meant to show how tough/powerful she is. He flew into something when she kicked him.
