> I am not sure the rest of your opinions on the current roster, but I must say that to me they seem a bit underpowered overall. Now I find them a very cool team but let us see how they do against some other teams in Marvel and DC shall we?
>
I don't think they are really underpowered. Warlock covers the magic angle and the "weird/anything goes" angle.. Phyla if she ever learned the full potential is equal to any herald of Galactus if DnA remember her energy draining abilities. Gamora in the past at least was around Ares' level of strength and is a better fighter. Though I think her strength may have decreased she has the godslayer blade that even Thanos feared. Drax is a great fighter. About the only ones who you could argue come up short are Star-Lord and Rocket because they rely only on conventional arms.

> Classic Avengers (Captain America, Hawkeye, Thor, Vision, Iron Man, Wasp and Giant Man)
>
I think I give it to the Avengers. Thor would defeat Phyla-vell and whole one or two of the Avengers go down they can eventually overwhelm them.

> Mighty Avengers (Ms. Marvel, Iron Man, Ares, Sentry, Wonder man, Black Widow and Wasp)
>
I would actually give this to the GOTG. Gamora can defeat Ares relativley easily. Phyla-vell if she uses the bands could temporarily contain everyone. Warlock could say boo to the Sentry (or something equivilant) and scare him away. Hopefully, Rocket would bring along something to deal with Ms. Marvel and Wonder Man. Warlock could probable take on Iron Man with some magic. It would be a tough fight, but they could win.

> Defenders (Savage Hulk, Silver Surfer, Dr. Strange, Namor, Hellcat, Darkhawk, Daemon Hellstorm)
>
Defenders, Strange is better at magic. Surfer is better than Phyla. Namor is probable about as good as Gamora and just as strong if not stronger. Savage Hulk could probable hold off Drax. Star-Lord and Rocet may not be able to hurt Surfer or Hulk. Then there is Daemon's magic.

> X-men (Wolverine, Xavier, Rogue, Ice man, Colossus, Jean Grey, Cyclops)
>
If they have no defense against telepaths Jean and Xavier shut them down.

> JLA (Superman, Wonder Woman, Martian Manhunter, Batman, Flash, Green Lantern (Hal) and Hawkgirl)
>
I think the JLA takes it. It is a team full of experience big guns combined with super flash and the omnipotent Batman.

>
> Cosmic Avengers (team I decided to throw togther: Beta Ray Bill, Quasar (Wendell), Silver Surfer, Major Victory and Nova)
>
The cosmic Avengers. Wendell defeats Phyla due to experience. Bill and Surfer and Nova all bring enough power combined with skill to walk over the rest.

> Acts of Vengeance (Loki, Dr. Doom, Magneto, Red Skull, Apocalypse, Mandarin and Kingpin)
>
Assuming they are actually working together than they win. Even assuming Magneot isn't doing his blood trick Loki can counter Warlock. Apoc could potentially counter Gamora and/or Drax. Doom is Doom and Magento and Mandarin all of their own fare share of abilities.

I think the biggest problem with the current GOTG is not so much lack of skill/talent, but lack of raw power. Phyla is about the only heavy hitter they have and she is inexperienced with her powers. Warlock has some moderate magical ability. We don't know the current phystical states of Drax and Gamora, but I think they are at least still superhuman. Rocket and Star-Lord are the weak link because they rely on conventional weaponry. That is fine if you are confronting mostly guys who are merely using ray guns or not that invulnerable, but alot of the teams you picked tend to either be invulnerable to it or able to produce force fields and such. That is one reason they has so much trouble against the Cardinals. They could not really get through their defenses save for Phyla and Warlock nor could they get close enough for Gamora or Drax.

> Some big singles matches for the team:
>
> Super Boy Prime
>
Its SBP they loose.

> Red Hulk
>
It's Loeb's personal hulk. If Thor couldn't even make a dent in it I don't see anyone on the GOTG bringing anything big enough to hurt it.

> WWH
>
Assuming it has no dumbing aura I could see them giving him a tough fight. Assuming his healing abilities negate most attacks from Star-Lord, Rocket, Drax and Groot leaves few options. Phyla might be able to drain his energy if that still works or at least the excess radiation if she knows how. Warlock might be able to whip up a spell, but based on what he has shown so far that is unlikely. The best hope would be killing the Hulk with Gamora's godslayer. Otherwise he would simply overpower them.

> Galactus
>
If it is Jobblactus he shoots some eyebeams at Phyla who blocks them with her own blasts. We get some ranting and Warlock blast him knocking him out.

If it is Galactus than they are more of an annoyance and loose rather quickly with Galactus using an energy blast to either incenerate, teleport, or knock them out.

> Dreaming Celestial
>
> Imperix
>
> Anti Monitor
>
No chance against any of the above.

> Ultron
>
Assuming Ultron cannot simply move to another body I can see Phyla maybe draining him or some spell from Warlock. If not again the best hope is Gamora's godslayer.

> Annihilus from Annihilation
>
I think the GOTG could take it after a tough fight.

> Tyrant
>
> Morg WoL
>
They loose.
>

The thing we are learning from GOTG are superbeings are a rare breed on this plane of existence. While other planets may have them they are a minority and even then are not supremely powerful. Beings like the Hulk and Hercules are quite rare, but we are so used to seeing them among each other which is where it becomes common. The really powerful beings tend to live in different dimensions.
