> it's not really hard to believe. what better way to sell books than to place one of your biggest face-characters in such a suspenseful situation?

But it wasn't stated. So, we can't say it as if it were fact. See below.
> Rulk himself stated that he was going for the kill. he had Hulk in a chokehold, and just as he was going for, what i assume he thought would be the final punch, and making a statement to the effect of sending Hulk to hell, he was blindsided by Thor.

How many thousands of times have villains said this to heroes...and were wrong? Hulk and Thor said they were going to kill each other (Hulk #440). *HINT: They're still alive*
> now i'm confused here. from the text in the scans posted on the Thor board, Hulk sought Rulk out. considering their previous encounter, i don't think Hulk was only in a mood to chat. Hulk was clearly depicted fighting, and losing the fight until Thor showed up. i saw no evidence of any strategy, unless you count the moment Hulk realized that Rulk was giving off heat. still, Hulk was fighting and getting beat before he made that realization, which again, doesn't ellude to any kinda strategy.

When I said that the Hulk wasn't fighting back...I was talking about the part...where...the Hulk wasn't fighting back.
> for the most part all fanboys twist the truth. that philosophy doesn't just apply to Hulk fanboys.

Really? Try convincing Daveym of that.
